Champion For Christ

CFC embroidered on my chest

I’m a Champion For Christ in Him I’m blessed

I go hard to proclaim His name

Notoriety, recognition, that ain’t the aim

Without Christ on my side, I’d go insane

I give it all for His honor, victory is what I gain

On chemo day, I’m dressed to the nines

Chemo cape hanging, scripture on my back, that’s the headline

Romans 8:28, God’s Word is divine

“And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God,

to them who are called according to his purpose.”

Walking in His glory, my life’s on surplus

I go hard to proclaim His name

When fighting for Christ, salvation is my claim

My “Fight Like A Girl” bag hanging on my side

Don’t get it twisted, it’s God’s battle, He’s my guide

I only sport the logo to portray an image of being tough

God fights my battles and that’s more than enough

The Sword of the Spirit is one of the armors I wear

Being equipped to share His Word, in Christ there’s no fear

Go hard for His name is what I do

Hoping His Word reaches some or even a few

A Champion For Christ is who I’ll be till the end

The devil tries to fill my head with lies only to offend

He convinces me that I’m weak for this battle, he aims to defeat

Filling my head with thoughts, this cancer will consume me, I won’t beat

God whispers Words of truth, the devil’s a liar and a cheat

Who my Savior says I am is what I choose to believe

Clinging to His Word of hope, not defeat

God sees me as strong, confident, and more than a conqueror

Strapped with His breastplate of Righteousness, He designed a warrior

Fight Like A Girl, that’s what I intend to do

Jesus on my side, He’s part of my crew

Giving Him the glory, He deserves the utmost due

His Word sharper than a sword of two

Carrie Underwood featuring Ludacris raps of a champion

I’ll flip the script, put it in my own opinion

The “C” is that I carry Christ in my heart

“H” is for hope, even when life’s falling apart

The “A” is that I’m in the army of Christ and I’ll speak of His love

“M” is for my mind set on things above, His mercy and grace tight as my boxing glove

“P” for my patience as I wait upon His timing

“I” for idolize, my God’s love keeps me smiling

“O” is for the opportunity I get to spread God’s Word

The “N” is necessary, without Him in my life, my future’s a blur

This is my idea of a champion, with cancer as my plight

I’ll continue to “Fight Like A Girl,” with God, I’ll be alright

Young, vibrant, and physically fit...Patrice is living life! Married to a devoted, God-fearing man, who not only loves the Lord but loves his wife just as Christ loved the church. Keeping Christ interwoven at the center of our marriage, we are reminded that, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves, but a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” With a very fulfilling and rewarding profession, teaching is my passion. I absolutely love and adore my fourth grade darlings. Seeing the sparkle in their eyes when they are ecstatic about doing a fun project or their expression of excitement when they have done well on a test. But the truth is, nothing warms my heart more than when they tell me that I’m the BEST teacher they’ve ever had! Let’s just put it out there that going on a memorable and unforgettable vacation makes life worthwhile. Experiencing the food, the culture, the scenery, the that’s living! This was the year we were going to Spain and Portugal. On a past summer vacation, we enjoyed 21 glorious days with our daughter and son traveling throughout Italy. As my vacation planning was on the way, my hubby suggested that we skip a trip this year and focus on the renovations we had already started on our home. Reluctantly, I had to agree with him. With the kitchen completely gutted and confined to living in the family room as a result of the whole house being retiled, junk foods and take outs became my specialty. During this time of renovation unrest, the various symptoms I began to experience all seemed like just the regular ailments that resulted from poor nutrition and diet. After all, Cheetos, Crunch and Munch, and Goobers were all my cravings of choice after a long day’s work. Symptoms of gassiness, constipation, and gas pains that I started experiencing, I figured would have gone away once my unhealthy eating choices changed. Well, it was not until I witnessed my stomach bloating up and that unbearable feeling of abdominal fullness that my husband suggested I go get it checked out because something didn’t seem right. The sight of my stomach was enough proof that this was MORE than just gas pain! I figured I would confess to the doctor that I haven’t been eating healthy as of late, hence the reasons for my discomforts. Instead, “You have Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer” became my new reality. I was bombarded with treatment plans, appointment dates, endless procedures, and the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial. I decided after hearing my diagnosis that I would stand firm on the Word of God and not on the word of man and their statistics for my recovery. No fear! No crying! No self-pity! No questions asked, “Why me Lord?” Instead, I lifted my hands to Heaven and said, “Lord, I surrender this sickness to You because in my weakness You are strong and this battle is Yours to fight.” With God fighting my battle, I knew I was already victorious. I was ready to put on the full armor of God in order to stand firm with the belt of truth. I must be geared with the breastplate of righteousness, having my feet planted and fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. I would pick up my shield of faith, take up my helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit; the Word of God. Come with me on my faith-based journey to cancer recovery. I hope you will find courage to face your own “giants” and be encouraged by the strength I have found in relying solely on the Healer and not the healing.

    1. Thank you sooo much! There is power in numbers and I know the more people praying will be the more people praising…His name will be glorified and prayers are being answered…pls thank your congregation for me and let them know that the cancer level in my blood dropped by 700 points from the last chemo treatment so it shows that God is flowing that chemo directly to where it needs to go and He’s allowing the treatment to work…I’m just in awe of the goodness of my Savior and His faithfulness…thanks my Puerto Rican Dad for your continued prayers 😊
